His studies and work are based on traditional systems of learning and not from the university circles of the modern academia. He trained with Abdulay Bah, a traditional Islamic Hakim (doctor in traditional Unani medicine) from 1993 to 1998 in West Africa followed by apprenticeships and assisting some western practitioners in Homeopathy (classical Homeopathy), Chinese medicine and western herbology. As a martial arts expert he has also taught several systems of martial arts such as Shorin Ryu Karate, Aikido, Aiki-Jujutsu, Iai-Jutsu, Jo Jutsu, Escrima and Kung Fu. His bionote is also accessible at: http://organichealthinst.wordpress.com/teachers/. As someone passionately imbued with the Ghazalian ethos on the integrative relation between knowing and doing (‘ilm wa ‘amal), he says, “I guess I am a bit Ghazalian in my philosophical outlook, in that I believe knowledge is only valued by its application in real life rather than merely theorized in academic papers.” In nutshell, he is very much into Vision in Action.
